Tristan Stubbs’ unbeaten knock couldn’t get the Delhi Capitals over the line in their IPL match against the Rajasthan Royals on Thursday.

In the first IPL 2024 match in Jaipur, the ball stayed low sometimes during the second innings, but overall, it was a pretty easy surface to play on. Even though it was the first evening game at this venue for the season, it doesn’t seem like dew will be a big problem early on in the tournament. The pitch has shown it can be a bit tricky at times, so players might need to adjust quickly.

In other IPL news, Kolkata Knight Riders have brought in Allah Ghazanfar from Afghanistan to replace the injured Mujeeb Ur Rahman. Ghazanfar is an offspinner who has played in two ODIs for Afghanistan already.

Also, Rajasthan Royals have added Keshav Maharaj from South Africa as a replacement for the injured Prasidh Krishna. According to an IPL media release, Krishna had surgery on his left leg and is currently recovering.

Both Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have won their first matches in the IPL 2024 season. But both teams have had to deal with injuries. KKR brought in Phil Salt after Jason Roy got injured, and RR replaced Adam Zampa with Tanush Kotian due to personal reasons. Zampa was originally retained by Rajasthan Royals before the auction in Dubai for 1.5 crore INR, which is around A$273,000.
