More and more cricket players are facing a tough choice: representing their country or joining lucrative T20 leagues. This tug-of-war is getting more attention, especially after South Africa’s tour of New Zealand.

During a Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 coverage episode of The Pavilion, former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram spilled the beans on why David Miller delayed his wedding to Camilla Harris.

Akram explained that the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) team Fortune Barisal offered Miller an extra $15,0000 to play three matches, including the final against Comilla Victorians.

“I only heard about this today when we were talking about who won the BPL. We weren’t keeping up because of the PSL. David Miller got offered $150,000 to play three matches. He delayed his wedding,” said Wasim Akram.

The talk about Miller came up during a panel discussion that had ex-captains from Pakistan like Mohammed Hafeez, Misbah-ul-Haq, and Azhar Ali, along with Akram. They were discussing how to get more international players interested in the PSL because of the increasing competition.

Miller, a powerful South African batsman, didn’t do so well in three matches, scoring only 47 runs altogether. In the final match, he was not out with just 8 runs, but Barisal still won by 6 wickets while chasing a target of 155 runs.

Miller is going to play in the next Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. He’ll be on the Gujarat Titans team as a batter.
