His innings guided the team led by Sanju Samson to a comfortable six-wicket victory with five balls to spare.

“Jos is undoubtedly the best white-ball opener globally, and all he needed was to stay focused and ignore some of the criticism,” said Sangakkara after the game.

Reflecting on his innings, Buttler shared his feelings about the pressure he faced due to his recent poor form. He also mentioned finding some solace during the previous match against Mumbai Indians, despite scoring only 13 runs. Additionally, Buttler made history by becoming the second player to score a century in his 100th IPL game.

“No matter how much experience you have in the game, you still deal with anxieties and pressure. Sometimes you just have to reassure yourself that things will improve. Keep putting in the effort, keep working hard, and eventually, things will turn around. I actually felt quite good in the last game, even though I didn’t score many runs,” said the 33-year-old during the post-match presentation.
