Excited to Face Virat Kohli
Varun Chakravarthy has a strong record against Virat Kohli, having conceded just 40 runs in 39 balls across seven IPL innings. However, he has dismissed Kohli only once. He is eager to change that in the opening match.
“Definitely excited to be coming up against Virat bhai. Obviously, he has batted well against me, and I would want to do well against him. RCB have a quality team, but we have done our homework,” said Varun.
New Strategies & Tactical Bowling
Varun has hinted at adding new variations to his bowling and emphasized that success is not just about variety but how those variations are used.
“The ball can deviate in three ways: left, right, or straight. How I choose those balls, the sequencing of it—that’s where the tactical side of the game comes in,” he explained.
Bowling Partnership with Sunil Narine
Varun is looking forward to teaming up once again with Sunil Narine. The duo took 38 wickets in IPL 2024 and will be crucial for KKR’s campaign this year as well.
“He is a legend of the game. One of the greats. He looks very well prepared this year, just like he did last season,” Varun added.
