Delhi Capitals faced a big blow as English cricketer Harry Brook decided not to participate in IPL 2024 due to personal reasons. Brook, who was bought by the Capitals for INR 4 Crores, won’t be playing in the tournament starting on March 22.
For those who don’t know, Brook also opted out of playing for England in their recent Test series in India because of personal issues. The England Cricket Board asked everyone to respect his family’s privacy during this time.
“The Harry Brook family is asking for privacy right now. So, the cricket board and the family want the media and the public to give them space and not disturb them,” said the official statement.

Before joining Delhi Capitals, Brook didn’t perform well while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last season. He only managed to score 190 runs with an average of 21.11 and a strike rate of 123.38.
Despite his previous performance, Delhi Capitals picked him in the recent auction. Now, with him pulling out of the tournament, the team is on the lookout for someone to fill his spot. Rumor has it that Australia’s Jake Fraser-McGurk might step in for Brook in the Delhi Capitals team.
