NEW DELHI: Peshawar Zalmi secured a narrow victory against Karachi Kings by defending a total of 147 runs in a thrilling match at the National Stadium in Karachi on Monday.

In the last over, Peshawar’s fast bowler Aamer Jamal bowled exceptionally well, conceding only one bye on the final ball when Karachi’s batter Irfan Khan needed a boundary to win.

With this win, Peshawar Zalmi moved to the top of the standings and secured a spot in the first qualifier of the playoffs, scheduled for Thursday.

On the other hand, Karachi Kings, already out of the playoffs race, finished fifth overall with four wins in 10 matches.

Peshawar Zalmi posted a total of 147/6 on a challenging pitch that offered considerable turn. Karachi Kings made a valiant effort, reaching 145/5 in their chase. Irfan Khan’s unbeaten 39 runs almost sealed the victory for Karachi.
