On Sunday, Naseem Shah, playing for Islamabad United, kicked the stumps after the last ball of Multan Sultans’ innings.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) fined Naseem Shah from Islamabad United ten percent of his match fee for breaking the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) code of conduct during a game against Multan Sultans at Pindi Cricket Stadium. Naseem, who plays for Islamabad United, kicked the stumps after the final ball of Multan Sultans‘ innings.
PCB confirmed this in a statement, saying Naseem breached Article 2.2, which deals with misusing cricket equipment or ground equipment. The umpires, Ruchira Palliyaguruge and Muhammad Asif, charged Naseem with this violation.
“Islamabad United’s Naseem Shah was fined 10 percent of his match fee for a level 1 breach of the HBL PSL’s Code of Conduct during his side’s match against Multan Sultans at Pindi Cricket Stadium,” PCB stated.
Naseem Shah admitted to the charge and accepted the punishment proposed by match referee Roshan Mahanama, so there was no formal hearing.
Additionally, Multan Sultans were fined for a slow over rate. They were one over short of their target, and each player was fined 10 percent of their match fee as per the rules.
In the match, after Islamabad United chose to field first, Multan Sultans scored a massive 228/4, with Usman Khan making an unbeaten century and Johnson Charles hitting 42 off 18 balls.
In response, Colin Munro scored 84 off 40 deliveries, with support from skipper Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim, who helped Islamabad United win by three wickets.

Sikandar Raza fined
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) fined Lahore Qalandars all-rounder Sikandar Raza for disagreeing with the umpire’s decision during their match against Quetta Gladiators. Raza was fined 10 per cent of his match fee for a Level 1 breach of PSL’s code of conduct.
During the game, Raza expressed his disagreement with the umpire’s decision on three occasions by raising his arms, shaking his head, and gesturing that the delivery should have been called a wide ball. His actions violated article 2.8 of the code of conduct, which deals with players showing dissent at umpires’ decisions during PSL matches.
The PCB released a statement announcing the fine imposed on Raza, stating, “Lahore Qalandars’ Sikandar Raza has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee for a Level 1 breach of HBL PSL’s code of conduct for showing dissent at an umpire’s decision.”
The charge against Sikandar Raza was leveled by on-field umpires Chris Gaffaney and Rashid Riaz, with match referee Ali Naqvi imposing the fine.
Moving on to the match, Qalandars won the toss and chose to bat. Abdullah Shafique’s unbeaten 59 and skipper Shaheen Afridi’s impressive knock of 55 off 34 deliveries helped Qalandars reach a total of 166/4.
In response, Saud Shakeel’s unbeaten 88 guided his team to a comfortable chase. While Khawaja Nafay provided some support, it was mainly Saud Shakeel’s performance that led Gladiators to a six-wicket victory.
