The UAE’s rough start in the Cricket World Cup League 2 continued with another loss at Dubai International Stadium.

Their eight-run defeat against Canada, although an improvement, still showed the team’s struggles in this tournament. They’ve had a tough time getting wins, having lost three in a row now.

The team tried to fix their batting problems by making changes. They swapped out Alishan Sharafu and Asif Khan for Tanish Suri and CP Rizwan. Suri and Rizwan showed some good moments, especially at the start of their chase for 237 runs in 46 overs.

But as the innings progressed, their momentum slowed down. Vriitya Aravind’s top score of 51 wasn’t enough to recover after a series of run-outs.

Canada, on the other hand, played well, with Harsh Thaker scoring a century. They deserved their win, keeping the UAE to 228-8 in their 46 overs.

Now, UAE’s new coach Lalchand Rajput has to figure out how to improve the team’s performance. They need to work on their batting, as captain Waseem pointed out, especially in the middle overs where they slowed down.

The team is hopeful for better results in the upcoming games, but they know they need to step up their game.
